Wedding photography in Wiltshire and the surrounding areas
I like to keep things simple. Weddings can be stressful (and expensive) enough without the added confusion of trying to decide between an iron, bronze or titanium wedding photography package. You then probably don’t want to find that your photographer is demanding dinner, looking at their watch and charging you for extra time, or trying the hard sell on albums.
I just offer me, covering your wedding from prep to first dance (however long that is), with full size images to do as you please with, for £650.
Before the day you can email me as much or as little as you like, we can meet as many times as you like, and I’m more than happy to come along to a rehearsal if I’m available. It’s all included.
When your big day arrives I’ll start capturing your day whenever you’d like me to, and I’ll stay until just after the first dance. I will work around you and your plan for the day, capturing moments without interfering with them. In fact, aside from the group shots (which I’ll work through quickly and without barking orders at everyone) you won’t really hear from me at all during the day, and I certainly won’t be asking you or your guests to get into silly/awkward poses.
Within a day or so (but usually the next morning) I’ll email you 2 or 3 key photos for you to enjoy and share straight away. I’ll then carefully tweak, edit, colour correct and finish your photos. Around two weeks later you will receive a little box containing a USB stick, CDs and a selection of prints. You will also have access to your own password protected online gallery.
The photos you receive on USB are ‘full’ size and not watermarked, so you’re free to create albums and photobooks, make big prints, share them on social media and send them to your friends and family. Anyone you choose to share your online gallery with can download as many photos as they like at no extra cost. No tempting ‘sample’ albums or costly additional extras.
If all of that sounds good to you, feel free to contact me to check availability or to ask any further questions you may have.
Can you adjust your package for half day/two day weddings etc? Sure, just drop me an email with your plans and I’ll put together a quote for you.
Can I see a full wedding gallery? Of course, just drop me an email and I'll send a link over.
How far will you travel? I’m based in Hilperton, Wiltshire (BA14) and I’m happy to travel anywhere within Wiltshire, Somerset, Bath, Dorset, South Gloucestershire and Hampshire at no extra cost. I may ask for a small supplement if your wedding is further afield to cover the cost of fuel, but I have a very efficient car so it won’t be much!
I’m also happy to discuss destination weddings. Given the low cost of flights these days you may find it’s not nearly as expensive as you may think, and I will do my best to minimise the costs.
Are there any hidden costs? Aside from the small travel supplement mentioned above if you’re further afield, none whatsoever. I won’t charge extra if the wedding runs late, downloads from your webpage are free to anyone you choose to share it with, and images on the USB stick are full-size and not watermarked, so you can print your own photos in your own time at no additional cost.
Can we give you a list of group shots? Absolutely. However Uncle Bob has a habit of popping to the bar just when he’s needed, so whilst I can work through a list pretty quickly, for the sanity of you and your guests I highly recommend restricting your list to no more than 10-15 group shots.
Can you create a photo of us running away from a T-Rex whilst a Tie Fighter passes overhead? No. But on a serious note, as you can see from the sample gallery below, my style is relaxed, informal and uncomplicated. If you want to relax and enjoy your day with the minimum of hassle and stress I will fit right in. If you have elaborate plans, a list of 50 formal shots and a wedding photography Pinterest board that doesn’t fit on one screen, there are undoubtedly other wedding photographers out there who would be better suited to your day.
Do we need to feed you? No, but if you’d like to I won’t turn it down! I normally find somewhere quiet (but nearby so I’m ready for speeches) and backup the images I’ve taken so far during the wedding breakfast.
What happens if your kit breaks? I carry two cameras with me at all times and all photos are automatically stored on two memory cards. When I get home everything is backed up in multiple locations.
How many photos will I receive? Usually around 300 fully edited images for a full wedding day.
What exactly will I receive? Your little box will contain the following:
- USB Stick This contains the full size files and a copy of the compressed files
- 3x CDs These contain compressed images suitable for web/email use
- Prints A selection (normally around 15) of high quality A5 prints featuring key moments from the day
- Your own online webpage/gallery View, download and share your photos as you wish. The gallery automatically formats to desktops, smartphones and tablets, so it looks great everywhere.
Do we receive copyright of the photos? The simple answer is no. However you do receive a very relaxed licence of use which allows you to copy, print and share all of the ‘full size’ photos for personal use as much as you wish. Feel free to upload to Instagram/Facebook, create photobooks, prints etc, basically everything you might reasonably expect to be able to do with them. Copyright is a very complicated and misunderstood area, but essentially by me retaining copyright you can’t sell the photos, enter them into competitions as your own or re-edit them. Be wary of any photographer claiming to offer ‘copyright free’ photos as they’re probably unsure as to what that actually means.
Can you help us with albums? I love seeing photos ‘in print’ so I’m more than happy to arrange or help out with photobooks or albums. You can find details of my most popular albums here.
What if I lose my USB Stick, two years later? Don’t panic, drop me an email and I’ll help out. All my photos are archived safely in multiple locations and will be for a minimum of 3 years.
